The latest update from Doug Myall is now on-line a few days early.
As usual, there is a lot of information from New issues such as the Latest Pane, DP435, with the George V Downey Head in the center spot and the DP438 50p classic view of Windsor castle to some Q&As. Nice blow-ups of the differences between the images shown on DP438 and DP12 are included.
There is also some info on the exciting Arnold Machin mini-sheet, DMS29, that Royal Mail put so much creative effort into producing.
Further on there is a short report of a horizontally imperf 35p dark brown and a section on some new overseas uses of the Machin Head.
Doug has included a section from an Australian collector who is collecting his Machins somewhat differently from what has been the usual practice, followed by a report about the generosity of a recently departed collector who donated both his Machin casting as well as one of Queen Victoria to The Royal Philatelic Society for display.
And as they say on those late night TV commercials, "But wait, there's more !!!", but you will have to get your copy of the report open yourself.

I thought it was a fascinating report. I am getting more and more intrigued wondering what the Diamond Jubilee definitives will look like!

And the Kenyan Machin is quite nice - nicer than the New Zealand one anyway!

Agreed

Another interesting item towards the back of the report is a table showing postal increases over the last six years.

Amazingly the issue that shows the greatest increase, 176% since 2005 would you believe, is the 2nd Class large.

Deegam Report #96 is available as of Sunday to all Handbook subscribers, and is interesting as ever.
Doug has some info on the Diamond Blue Jubilee Stamp with a promise of more to follow once they are actually available and can be studied.

There is also some information about the Horizon Labels and their grouping, as well as the Ronald Dahl Prestige pane.

Then there is an lengthly discussion regarding the sometimes befuddling subject, "What is a definitive?" and an explanation of the Handbook's criteria designed to apply commom sense and consistancy at least as far as the Handbook is concerned.

There is a typo in the Report DGR-96. The 68p Dahl stamp should be DG 680.6.1, not "680. 4.2". The color, "Sea Green" and other details are correct.

I rather like those light pastels as they do show the CDS, if in fact one is properly applied and especially if the smaller local hand canceller was used. Of course in today's philately we are fortunate if stamps from these panes are actually used on regular mail. However every onc in a while someone breaks into a collection and begins to use some of the mint stamps for postage.

I guess it's that time again.
The secret Deegam Machin Report #97 is available and as usual full of interesting information
It starts off with a list of Tariff Changes or as we would say here, more Postal Rate chaages, .....groan!
Some info on the beautiful Diamond Jubilee Sticky stampsfollows, and then it shows the new 1st NVI value types which should make that part of the collection interesting.
There is a very interesting discussion and explanation of the UK laws about possessing forgeries that everyone, especially members living in the British Isles should read.
And much more
