I recently won on eBay (it was cheap) a copy of the 5d Fife Harling stamp with phosphor omitted. On receipt I examined same and, yes, no phosphor, but how do I tell? My SG Vol3 Specialised tells me that a large number of sheets that were supposed to be phosphor issues did not have it applied, ergo, phosphor omitted.

My quandry is, how do you tell the difference between SG 815 (normal 5d) and SG 815d (phosphor omitted variety)....................umm....dunno!

Any guidance would be gratefully received.

Alex.

Oooooopssssss, much embarrassment! I have just re-read the details in SG Vol3 and these were only issued with phosphor, not plain and phosphor. Apologies! Ordinary and phosphor commemorative issues stopped with the wild flowers issue of 1967.
