Someone in Australia is getting ready to sell a large, specialized Machin collection and is now selling the documentation for 5 plus postage.

The lot is here.

Yes Larry this is his third or fourth re-listing of this auction, with 10 copies available. Not selling too many but even if he sells 10 thats 50 just for a list of his stamps - not that daft is he?

I notice also that he is selling his high value scarcer blocks independently so they won't be in the collection he eventually sells.

I have noticed this seller on eBay for quite a while now and indeed have bought some booklets from him, however, generally his starting prices are relatively high (in comparison with the latest catalogue value which I know isn't always the best guide).

Two thoughts come to mind. His listing is slightly dishonest and could be corrected were he to list his offering as "... Specialist's Specialised Machin Collection Catalog Listing for sale ..."
.
On the other hand, anyone with the brains of a stray cat should realize that no one is actually offering an actual specialized Machin collection of any depth for 5.00, or even 500.00. So I find his sale a bit too cute for me, and probably too expensive anyway.
