Can I ask a favour of all members please. It will help the moderators in their fight against Spammers.

If you have not already done so could each of you go into your profile (top of the page) and fill in at least the "Location" and "Occupation" fields plus any others you are comfortable with (especially "Website" if you have one). None of this information will subject you to an Identity stealing scenario but will increase the security of the site.

Leave the password fields blank unless you particularly want to change this.

[

Thank You. If you would like to add a reply to this thread telling me you have completed it - that would be good.

Got stuck on a really boring conference call earlier today and thought the forum was looking a bit boring too so I started adding Avatars to members, so if you don't like the choice - it's now up to you to change them.... any jpg or png or gif file up to 200 x 200 pixels is fine.

PS it does not accept JPG (i.e. jpg in upper case).

I am quite happy with mine...though given the nature of the site, perhaps a small Machin could have been added in the corner (preferably one from Hong Kong!). Laughing Just joking, it is a nice bit of website management!

Bingo !!!
I think I got it, Dave.
.
My chosen "avatar" is from a postally used envelope sent from UK to an address in Germany on the first day of issue.
Ooops, I meant Switzerland.

At least I think it carried a note of some kind.
If it were purely a philatelic usage, I suspect the sender would have used a smaller envelope and perhaps a peelable label so it would more closely conform to the popular FDC collecting customs.
He, or she, would have wanted the cancellation to read right side up also.

You didn't have one - I left alone all those who already had one ... but as you can see I have cropped and re-sized it and .. hey . presto ....
