I bought this FDC on eBay the other week and wondered if I got a good deal. I paid the princely sum of £1.75 plus postage which I was quite happy with but wasn't sure if that was good or bad. Please let me know how I did.
I've tried to post a picture but I'm doing something wrong.
Many thanks _________________ Happy Collecting

Stamps are neat lttle labels,
Showing arts or crafts or fables,
I started collecting a few,
But it grew and it GREW,
Now it's filled the house clear up to the gables |

Hi Dave
I've sent it through, hope you get it. My fingers are dyslexic today. _________________ Happy Collecting

Here it is Mike.
Looks very nice for its age - for me you have a bargain but I am no expert on FDCs. _________________ Regards

Thanks Dave. It looks good in there, I wonder what I was doing wrong. I hoped I had a bargain, I don't collect FDCs either but this was something different and will make a nice display in the Machin collection. I like unusual and thought-provoking items that are different from the rest of the collection. It makes it seem like much more than just a long timeline of issues. _________________ Happy Collecting

I do collect FDCs but only Machins on Benham. This one of course was created before Benham existed (or at least before their "D" series started).
PS - there is an FAQ set-up to show members how to load up images. It is very easy once you get used to it. _________________ Regards

I did try following the FAQ but obviously did something wrong as no image appeared. Still, I'll keep on trying, Thanks again Dave. _________________ Happy Collecting

The 4½p stamp cancelled on November 13th, 1974, the first day of issue, is DG# 45.2.1 Doug's note is a bit more expansive. He states that it was a limited experiment to determine if it was practical to use PCP as an alternative to printing phosphor bars conducted in the Aberdeen, Cambridge and Norwich areas where they had somewhat modified sorting machines. _________________ " ....
