OK, so, here I am.
I have decided to join a machin forum.
So, my first post?
About postcards.

I have a random collection of 'stuff' that I have come across and kept.
I am not very interested in postcards but have an album of probably 150-200
postcards all from a couple of years (1906/07/08)with (I haven't checked them all yet) all with the above stamp.

So, I have a conundrum and I wondered if someone here might beable to help.

I am going to sell the postcards. (Make space for Machins.)
However, as this is a prime lot. Unchecked by anyone, I wondered
if there might be a place I could check if I am giving away anything of value.

I know that they are generally a dime a dozen and that there is a collection of colours.
(I did consider going through them to keep all the different ones,
but I suspect that I am better off selling the postcards and just buying a set of the colours.

Does that make any sense at all?

It makes sense because I have similar postcards and have always thought, "Why don't I take the stamp off?.... I save stamps not postcards" ... BUT to this day I never have.

As to your question regarding values of postcards, someone on the forum might be able to help but it isn't me I am afraid.

It is more about the stamps.

The postcards I shall put on ebay and potential buyers will be able to see
them for themselves.
I just wondered about the different colours etc and whether I should be looking out for something with this particular stamp.
Before I give it away to a postcard collector.

You might scan one or two of the cards, preferably both sides and post them either here or in another forum where members can e what you have.

Now, I am aware that they are a dime a dozen.
I also know that there were a number of colours that are collected.
I have probably 150-200 postcards all from the same years. All with the same stuff.
Just wanted to ask to make sure that I am not missing out on an oppurtunity.

Hopefully this works.

Useful being able to voice something 'out loud'.
It has helped my decision.
The stamps are a dime a dozen.
There is one 'cyprus green' variation that is rare.
As far as I can tell, that is 1912 onwards.
Mine were all posted before that.
So, I think that I will now sell the postcards and pick up the various variations at a later date when I get to them. I think they will be cheaper to buy a bunch of stamps to sort through than postcards.
I also quite like keeping the postcards as original as I can.

So, thanks for letting me air my little mini conundrum.
Thoughts polarised.
