Just logged into the Machin and Wilding Site and I notice there are no prices for the stamps and also no way to order an email price list.

Has the owner decided to no longer sell stamps or have I just found a website in the middle of an upgrade?

Dave,

Denis Stevens' site you mean?

It explains the situ on the homepage -

"Buying on the website or via post is suspended until further notice

Due to up and coming surgery I will be unable to process any orders from 22 February until further notice. Nor will I be available to reply to any emails sent or telephone calls made during this time. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but I will resume business as soon as is humanly possible."

Thanks Scott, I never go to the home page, ironically I curse people who do the same thing on my site.

I think when you can bookmark pages so easily it is sometimes easy to forget there is a "proper entrance door"

Let's face it folks, the gild is coming off the lillies.
I know this is off topic,
but I wrote it two years ago
and to me it is on topic every day.

Life's Arduous Journey,

The days roll on with mindless abandon,
Is it Wednesday already ?
How did Tuesday slip through my fingers?
Did I sleep through and miss three meals ?
How can it be the end of the month already,
With another birthday coming up ?
And now the hours flash past as sign posts pass a speeding train.
Weeks and months approach, are lived and much as freight cars on a railroad,
Race from the delightfully safe valley of birth across the plains of youth,
Into the increasingly rewarding, rolling foothills of marriage and parenthood,
Over green, finely trimmed pastures of pleasure's knolls.
For some, the gentle hills and forests of decision and achievement beckon,
Others, find canyons and the gulch of lost opportunities,
With confusing switchbacks, leading to despair,
And the ever forlorn paths of loneliness.
All roads converge at the distant horizon,
Where lies the edge of life's plateau,
Concealing the sudden fall into the escapeless unknown,
That everyman must feel.
The last climb, a slow ascent,
Through ever and ever more difficult hills,
Encountering increasingly steeper grades,
Looking back to those receding vales and grasslands,
That cloud the memories of pleasant days, of exciting ventures.
From the swiftly moving, swaying observation platform,
I see, not the future, but te past,
The gains, the losses, the pains managed, the ills avoided.
The plains of accomplishment and curving back
From what now reveals itself to be a scenic overlook,
Wondering as other strings of railcars,
Following and meandering,
Through those same confusing curves,
Blissfully unaware that their paths,
Following these same tracks and crossings,
So recently encountered
And thought to have been conquered,
Facing the same issues and choices,
Retracing the pathway to oblivion,
Remembered briefly, by those who follow.
I'll b 76 this month and am distressed that there are so many more days behind me than ahead.

Dennis is now back. On his web site he has the following notice:
''Due to recent illness please allow at least 7 days for processing of orders. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but I will resume normal business as soon as is humanly possible.''
