Hi,
I notice that since a couple of months the site:
https://www.machin-and-wilding-stamps.co.uk/contents/en-uk/
does not exist any longer. I found it the most elaborate site and used it frequently.
Does anyone know more about this?
(I am using the "Machin Web Site and Blog Links" post, though I notice it is not used very often. I will try another index if I see no response) |

Hi,
The person who ran the web site and shop, passed away a year or so back. |

Well that ought to slow it down. I guess that will happen
to many personal sites over time. |

I have to say it was a very informational site for Machins, and I believe Dennis Stevens (the owner concerned) had a few customers as well.
It was the ONLY site I knew of that gave catalogue numbers from about four different suppliers (Deegam/SG/Stoneham and Connoisseur) so it will be missed. I try to match up SG with Deegam and that is hard enough!
I had hoped to take a copy of his site before it disappeared but I wasn't fast enough. I guess his family had no desire to pay for a domain name/site fees for something that would no longer bring in any revenue.
I do wonder what happened to his collection/stock which must have been fairly exhaustive. _________________ Regards
