uploading images is dependent on 3rd party web directory ... does the software maker offer direct upload from computer ?

I think not, because I have had to use Photobucket in the past and a day or so ago, having forgotten that, found that the priceless image I was trying to display only accepted my file number for display, an almost meaningless number even to me without the thumb-drive wherein the image resides.
Then I thought about the annoyance of finding the password on another file somewhere to use photo bucket and decided that the damn image wasn't that important after all.
Now I don't remember the topic or the image anyway.
Problem solved !

As Charlie says most are held under the submitters account on Photobucket, but in fact you can use any 3rd party "cloud" that offers a share to the web-site that wants to display it.

One tends to use the software that is easiest to upload to and although I have my own "bucket" within my site and numerous cloud offerings it is actually easier for me to upload and share single photos from Photobucket.

This is unlikely to change, I could in theory allow everyone space on my site to upload images, but then I would have to put security etc in place and it just isn't worth the hassle.

Continuing on the software theme and expanding on the use of "clouds", I must admit I would be absolutely devastated now if Dropbox were to start charging individual users .. I guess I would find a way to use a different cloud but Dropbox is just so darned easy to use especially as I have now linked it to my Android phone as well.

If you want to avail yourself of a multiple use cloud space then I thoroughly recommend Dropbox remembering of course your normal security measures.

If you decide to join up to the FREE Dropbox .. I would appreciate it if you used the referral link below as I receive 500MB extra for every take-up (and I can use every byte I get!).

Thank you
