Hello

Found it a nice image on Lot: 4520 here:

I can't tell you much about these other than that I have seen them. They are measurably larger thannormal and are quite expensive. The examples I saw were going for just under Ģ100 at the time.

Strangely enough - I believe it is the other way round.

The originals were created with a smaller "face" than normal ... similar to the 38p and 19p in the Special by Design Prestige Booklet (DX24).
These are the common versions.

Later a few "normal" sized were produced (how and why I have no idea) and it is these that are rare. I think there is only a millimetre or so involved on both sides so your measurements have to be quite precise.

Apparently it doesn't apply to the equivalent 1st Class issue.

PS - when checking your kiloware - take special note of those with Scottish postmarks as I believe that most of this variety originated from Glasgow, but were posted at different offices around that city.

If any member has a copy of one of these and can confirm the post marking - I am sure there will be interest - so don't hesitate to tell us.

Just in case this disappears from viewing capability:

Looking at prices realised for this sale (41) doesn't look as if it sold.
